Delmas, Mpumalanga, March 19, 2024. Clover Ranch’s first consignment of SizzApp™ GPS vehicle trackers arrived in South Africa today.
Designed and manufactured by SIA SIZZAPP in Latvia, Europe, with development support from the Latvian Investment and Development Agency and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the SizzApp™ product is represented in Africa by Clover Ranch (Pty) Ltd with sales and distribution rights throughout the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region.
An advanced real-time GPS + GSM tracking solution for motorcycles and other battery-started vehicles, the tiny SizzApp™ digital security device not only tracks the vehicle that the unit is fitted to but also collects data from it and provides the information to the owner via the free mobile app in a simple and user-friendly way.
The SizzApp™ device is contained in a small dust-proof and water-proof casing, measuring just 6,7 cm x 7,5 cm and 2,56 cm high with a weight of 0.79g. Supplied with a 90 cm two-wire cable coupling the unit is easy to install by simply connecting cables’ positive and negative couplings to the vehicles battery terminals. The device is then adhered to the vehicle framework by peeling off the adhesive tape covering on the bottom of the casing and positioning it in a horizontal position.

Once installed, the owner simply downloads the free SizzApp™ mobile app for Android or iOS, completes the registration process, enters the device EMIA number (located on the inner sleeve of the packaging box), and selects feature preferences.
Commenting on the installation of the first device to his Honda CRF1100 DCT Africa Twin motorcycle, Clover Ranch’s CEO, Stanley Langkilde, says that the installation process is really easy. “On my bike, the battery connector cable has ample length to position the unit under the seat, which places the entire unit out of sight and inaccessible to potential thieves. I then rode the bike a short distance to activate the device connection with the app on my mobile phone.”

Once activated, and while traveling, the device updates the mobile app every 5 seconds to generate a new position record on an angle change for more than 10 degrees, or a distance change for more than 500 meters, or a speed value change for more than 50 km/h.
Unique widget features of the mobile app include:
- Group Riding: See the location of other SizzApp connected riders in your group.
- Notifications: Receive widget notifications via Push, SMS, or Voice.
- Speed: Quick summary of trip maximum and average speeds.
- Distance: Trip summary by date, distance, and time including break stops.

Referring to South Africa’s Second Quarter Crime Statistics report (2023/2024), Langkilde points out that 63 vehicles are stolen or hijacked every day. “That’s a vehicle theft every 23 minutes of every day,” he says. “Motorcycles are particularly vulnerable to theft and SizzApp provides a simple, and effective, solution for owners and their preferred contacts to be notified when the vehicle is moved or tampered with.”
